Globacom is a leading telecommunications network company with millions of subscribers in Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.

The telecommunication carrier started her operations on 29 August 2003, being the fourth GSM operator to launch in Nigeria, within seven years of the company's operation, its subscribers grows over 25 million. Globacom achieved this through is introduction of lower tariffs plan, pay per second billing and other value added services.

Globacom is the first single African company to build a high-capacity sub marine fiber-optic cable, popularly known as Glo-1.

Glo-1 is 9,800 km long cable that originates from Bude in the United Kingdom down to Alpha Beach, Nigeria. This as increases:

  • the potential of high speed internet services the company offers,
  • Improvements in online technologies. and also
  • facilitate foreign investment and employment opportunities
Globacom has played and continues to play massive roles in society and community development efforts which have seen the sponsoring of the national football teams and the Premier Leagues in Nigeria and Ghana.
